SHIRDI SAI BABA
Jonquil Cooper

In India, wherever you may be, a photograph of Shirdi Sai Baba will be nearby. He is almost always seen with a white cloth wrapped around his head, wearing white or orange robes, sitting on a boulder, with his right leg crossed over his left. This is the most common image of Baba, seen above counters in shops, over doors, in rickshaws and car windows, almost anywhere, for indeed, Shirdi Sai Baba is omnipresent.

I am everywhere and in all places
And the whole world is with Me.
I move everywhere and anywhere.
I pervade the universe.
I am both the visible and the invisible.
I am unborn, eternal and everlasting.
Baba

Probably like many foreigners visiting India, I had seen his image but never really knew who he was. I discovered this is a reoccurring theme about Baba.
Baba is a unique Saint, as his past is wrapped in mystery.
