REMEMBERING LEE LOZOWICK

In Remembrance
Western Baul Lee Lozowick passed out of his body on November 16, 2010. He was known by many people the world over as the long-time devotee and heart-son of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the revered beggar saint of Tiruvannamalai, South India. Lee’s life was dedicated to serving the communication and preservation of the spiritual path and the dharma in many roles: as guru, teacher, friend, poet and lyricist, as well as beloved father, rock & roll singer and lover of sacred art.
As a spiritual teacher of great dimension and personal practice, Lee established the Baul Path in the West, including the encoding of teachings in literature, poetry and song, while he also developed warm friendships and connections within diverse spiritual traditions. He inspired many people with his compassionate and often provocative communication of both non dual and theistic teachings applied within daily life and practice; in particular, he was a dedicated champion of conscious parenting, envisioned within a return to the simplicity and sanity of sacred culture. In these and many other ways, he touched the lives of countless numbers of people the world over.
After working intensely for three years with a serious illness, during which time he continued to travel and teach with his usual momentum and enthusiasm for life, the graceful ease of his mahasamadhi was the expression and fulfillment of a life fully and richly lived in the context of a great surrender to the Divine. His legacy to the world includes three ashrams and a prodigious wealth of books, poetry, and recorded music.
